Solid Waste Transfer Station

The transfer station is the collection site for public and private solid waste to be transported to the Southside Regional Landfill in Mecklenburg County. This facility is for use by local governments that provide trash collection services and also private trash disposal companies. It is not for an individual, residential trash disposal. Residents are to use Convenience Centers located throughout the county.

Hours: Monday through Friday 7am to 2 pm

Effective July 1, 2025 - Tipping Fee will increase to $58.30 per ton on solid waste

Tires:

Clean Tires - $157.50 per ton

Dirty Tires (full of mud/dirt) - $210 per ton

Tires accepted: passenger car tires, light truck, truck/bus, agricultural (tractor).

We do accept tires on and off the rim.
