  • If you are unsure of your precinct location, call the Voter Registration Office at 434-476-3322 or view the Voting Precincts List (PDF).

    If you need to determine your election district, you can search using your home address on the District and Precinct Map.

  • Registered voters of Virginia who do not hold an elected office or are not employees of an elected official are eligible to work as an officer of the election.

  • You will need to arrive at the polling place by 5:15 am on election day as well as:

    • Help prepare the polling place for voting and set up voting equipment.
    • Help check in voters.
    • Help close the polling place, certify the number of votes casted, and complete paperwork.
    • Stay at precinct until all work is completed (usually between 8:30 and 9 pm)

  • Yes, a training seminar is held on a designated evening before each election.

  • You will be assigned to work at the precinct in which you vote, if possible. Occasionally, you could be asked to work at a nearby polling place.
