Citizen Participation in the Community

Halifax County has numerous ways to get involved in your community. The Board of Supervisors has several advisory boards made up of county residents. Additionally, county organizations and agencies seek the help of volunteer leaders to participate on leadership boards.

Committees and Boards which currently have open seats to be appointed by the Halifax County Board of Supervisors:

Agriculture Development Advisory Committee - at-large position
Recreation Advisory Committee - ED5 representative and ED7 representative
Lake Country Agency on Aging - 2 Halifax County representative seats open
South Boston-Halifax County Library Board - 1 seat vacant
Transportation Safety Commission - ED2 representative and ED3 representative
