Historic Staunton River Foundation and Staunton River Battlefield State Park
The Historic Staunton River Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization; which was formed in 1994 with the scope and purpose of promoting, developing, and preserving a number of entities related to the 1864 Battlefield at the Staunton River. The Foundation provides historical, environmental, wildlife, and wetlands education as well as assists in developing programs and events for the general public at the Staunton River Battlefield State Park.

South Boston Speedway
South Boston Speedway is a 4/10-mile asphalt oval racetrack located in South Boston, Virginia. The Speedway is an extremely family-friendly venue and offer numerous free things for children to enjoy. Our facility features a full playground complete with a swing set and more. South Boston Speedway offers numerous ways to accommodate guests with their ticketing needs and children 12 and under are free at most of our events.

Staunton River State Park
Tucked neatly into the heart of Virginia, about 25 miles from the North Carolina border, Staunton River offers much to families and outdoor enthusiasts. The 2,400-acre park offers woodlands, meadows and shoreline along the Dan and Staunton rivers. Cabins built in the 1930s by the CCC and a campground offer overnight lodging. The equestrian campground offers large campsites and horse stalls. Access to Virginia's largest lake, Buggs Island Lake, offers freshwater fishing and boating, along with water skiing and many other aquatic activities. The park also has picnic shelters, three playgrounds, tennis and volleyball courts, several boat launches and more than 17 miles of multi-use trails. This park is the first state park in Virginia to be designated an International Dark Sky Park and is ideal for stargazing.

Virginia International Raceway
Recently chosen as one of Car and Driver Magazine’s top six road courses in the nation, VIRginia International Raceway is a multi-purpose road course offering professional and amateur auto and motorcycle racing, as well as a wide range of track events. VIR draws tens of thousands of spectators for some of the best road racing in the country. Its uphill Esses and sharp elevation changes not only make it a fan and driver favorite but have also established it as a prominent testing facility for the automotive industry. While racing is the heart of VIR, the expansive 1,300-acre property located at the Virginia-North Carolina border is so much more. America’s first true “motorsport resort,” it’s an entire vacation destination with a number of onsite hotel and lodging options. Within the property’s rolling hills and miles of lush forest, guests can enjoy unique amenities such as the VIR Club, karting, off-road racing, skeet shooting, pistol, and rifle ranges, skidpad, dining options more.
