Halifax County Emergency Services is responsible for the delivery of Fire, EMS, and Emergency Management services to the residents of Halifax County. The department also provides hazardous materials response, search and rescue, and underwater recovery. The delivery of fire suppression and emergency medical services is provided with 13 combination (volunteer/ career) departments and approximately 400 dedicated volunteers. The Emergency Services department is also directly responsible for mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery from all-hazards (man-made and natural) that could affect county residents.
